Along with a happy, enthusiastic crowd I got to see Mo Magic’s pre-opening Durban show on 10 February. The bright, energetic young magician has a lovely stage presence and the show is just under one and a half hours long without an interval, so is an easy night out.
The interactive performance saw Mo calling up various audience members onto the stage. The guests were suitably bemused by Mo’s mind reading, card sharping tricks, and this spectacle, together with Mo’s humour, made for an enjoyable evening.
One or two of the magic tricks didn’t quite go as planned so the showman will need to get those right before the show continues. My favourite was the hovering table illusion, accompanied as it was by spooky music.
Shows run from 11 to 14 February at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, UKZN Howard College Campus. Tickets are available through Computicket. Or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
